Hazleton Art ‘Botanicals in Blue’ Environmental Policy

Introduction and aim

Hazleton Art is an Art business, operating from a site in Cowplain Hampshire. Its main products are Cyanotype Photograms and its associated Art products. HA (Hazleton Art) recognises that its operations result in emissions to air and water, the use of energy, and the generation of waste. Its aim is to comply with legislation and other requirements, continue to reduce the environmental impacts of the business, and operate in an environmentally responsible manner. This policy describes how it will achieve that aim.

Responsibility

This environmental policy applies to all HA operations, including management, production, printing, delivery, and procurement. Irene E Parsons is responsible for ensuring that the policy is implemented.

Resources

HA will ensure that resources are available to achieve the objectives and targets.

Objectives

The policy is based on the foundations of saving energy, safeguarding water, reducing waste, using recyclable paper and packaging, limiting or eliminating the use of plastics, using sustainable transport for deliveries, and using UK-based suppliers and distributors, to keep to a minimum the impact on the environment.

Targets

To achieve these aims, HA has set the following targets for 2023-2024

To inform customers about the Environmental Policy by December 2023 and its commitment to reducing environmental impact.
To record production processes to ensure good practice and health and safety are followed.
To continue to evaluate all processes and improve them, to reduce waste and pollution.
To research and source further environmentally friendly packaging products.
To research local outlets for sales potential, to minimise delivery CO2 emissions.
To research and source UK-made products for production to reduce CO2 from importing.

Monitoring and auditing

Progress against these objectives will be completed by Irene E Parsons 6 monthly.
