Well, where has this year gone- October already- with Christmas just around the corner.
It’s been a busy and successful year so far for Hazleton Art- great results and exposure at Exhibitions and Art sales in a lovely café in Petersfield.
Sales on my Folksy shop are always slow, but it just ticks over so I’ll keep it going this year at least.
Christmas preparations.
Christmas prep has been ongoing since July, really, gathering ideas and starting to make items I think would do well – but who knows in this current climate what people prioritise with their pennies?

I have tried some new things this year, in a Nordic Christmas style, including wooden Trinket/Tealight Houses and wooden block Calendars. All the wooden items are made from responsibly sourced forest wood. I have used a water-based glue and my Cyanotype scrap paper and offcuts. They have been fun to do, but I donot want to make too many and have lots of stock left after Christmas.
I have also used stencils to make some Cyanotype Christmas cards, I have not used stencils before, I thought it added another dimension. Acetate film www.photopaperdirect.com is recyclable, along with most paper, because it is a polymer made from wood pulp and cotton linters. There is no specific recycling symbol for the acetate polymer. The great thing is that it can be reused for cyanotype many times as long as you keep it dry. All the cards and envelopes are made from either recycled paper or FSC-approved sources and are recyclable. Presentation bags are biodegradable or recyclable.
I have also made some new Cyanotype Hoops, using pre-treated 100% cotton sateen from https://justpuddingbasins.co.uk/ and UK-made beech-wood hoops. http://elbesee.co.uk
